Skyrim Geek Thread!
Post your screenshots, videos, or just talk about TESV: Skyrim if you play it!
So, here's my journey (I wish I could've screen'd from the beginning but for some reason Steam and Skyrim hates laptops and the screenshot function won't work... finally dl'ed Fraps).
My graphics are set to medium.
I'm using Gerdur and Hod's house right now since it costs (omg) 5k to get a house in Whiterun. Bleh... I'll be a houseguest for awhile XD
Before I left... somewhere (forgot where):
I took Faendal with me to kill this damn Draugr thing that was annoying me (and he helped me finish that quest LOL). He's not a very quiet guy though, at one point we were stealthing towards an enemy and he goes, "hmm..."
I was like "shhhh!!" LOL irl, the game really is immersive!
On our way out of the Bleak Falls Temple:
Look at the water
And this sunset:
And now I have someone touse as bait kill stuff with... Lydia! She's my housecarl XD
So many funny things happen in this game, but the funniest thing so far happened earlier today. Alvor's daughter Dorthe somehow got into Gerdur's house (maybe she followed me? Idk) and everything's peaceful til all of a sudden Gerdur starts spazzing and saying "You need to leave. You need to leave." over and over and over, so I run to see what's going on and she's standing there staring at Dorthe but she can't move as we're all in her way lmao and Gerdur just won't shut up, so finally somehow she's able to move and Gerdur chases her to the front door still going "You need to leave." XDDD
Then everything was peaceful again.
I'm tempted to unlock some of these peoples' houses cos I'm nosey and I want a peek inside lol. I might make a thief char to just loot and pick locks and cause general chaos cos I don't want to mess up my main.
I still have trouble with the compass (it's so confusing! even moreso for someone who's already directionally-challenged lol) and combat other than melee. I guess I'll have to look into getting a gaming controller as I hear that's easier, but oh well.

Re: Skyrim Geek Thread!
Wow!! What level are you, Zeza?
Vin is lvl 5 and Morka (my latest) is lvl 1 almost 2 XDDD
Here's Morka and the aurora borealis near Windhelm:
I had to go to Windhelm cos the guards in Whiterun were after me cos I nicked a few things XD
Well I didn't know about the launcher thing... I poked around a bit and found out where the screenshots -should- be stored but they aren't, even after it gave me the notification that they were taken.
And the two that are saved previously (before I knew about Steam) can't be opened at all.
It irritates me that I have to go through one thing to get to another thing when it shouldn't have to be like that.
So I use Fraps; it runs in the background with minimal resources, saves them where I want them, and then I can do what I like after

Re: Skyrim Geek Thread!
I have been around ivarstead. currently walking from rorikstead to where the magices guild is in whiterun because i need some new spells
So want to be werewolf in this game already.
also if your follower ever dies there is a console revive command.
you have to push the tilde key.
`
then click your follower and type resurrect.
sometimes you have to drag the corpse around until the click actually targets the followers code.

Re: Skyrim Geek Thread!
Yep I found God Mode command, which I use when things are a bit tough, but I'll have to see about finding the others.
I like the sound of the gold one, it's silly how a house costs 5k but you can barely scrape by unless you resort to thievery and pickpocketting. XD

Re: Skyrim Geek Thread!
I drink potions like water. XDDD
Maybe I'm doing it wrong... anyway I only do it if I can't kill whatever it is for the 5th time LOL
Although having more gold does make things a lot easier. I bought Breezehome last night so now Lydia and I have a place to stay

Re: Skyrim Geek Thread!
Cool~ (^_^)b
It's seriously fun!
I wish though that I could adopt a child. I think I know a way to kind of do it but I'm afraid to break the game by doing so XD
... Well I suppose I can always just start over.
I have plans to marry Argis the Bulwark. He and Vorstag are the only really nice-looking males about, as far as I can see, and that are eligible. (sigh)
</3
You guys don't have it any better... I laughed at some of the female npcs the male npcs were drooling over... lmao I guess they do look better in candlelight though XD and/or ale/mead goggles

Re: Skyrim Geek Thread!
Is that your way of offering to buy me one, then?
How about a whole new system while we're at it?
And tonight's the first time I got really pissed at this game.
**** Maurice Jondelle, that bloody frog keeps getting himself killed and there's nothing I can do about it.
I think I'll just kill him myself this next reload and be done with it.
/rage

Re: Skyrim Geek Thread!
Nevermind; it's not worth explaining.
You would have had to reach my level of rage to understand. XD
Anyway... I completed the quest with him dead (by dragon, for the 100th time) as it seems that's how the game wanted it to play out.
RIP Maurice: you never got to see the tree, it wasn't much to look at anyway, and the spriggans suck. At least I got my quest done, without you Good riddance!
I left your body near Lucky Lorenzo. I think you deserved it.
Also RIP Old Orc. You were a worthy opponent, and it was what you wanted anyway. I think we could have been friends; you seemed cool.
Lydia must have separation anxiety. Everytime I go home, she's in my room pacing or eternally sitting down/getting up from one chair across from my bed. That's kinda creepy.
Business as usual, now~

Sakolnir the dragon is now dead and I saw Alduin the final boss. I was helping the blades out and now I have the full version of the unrelenting force.

Re: Skyrim Geek Thread!
Cool
I just know "Fus - Ro" right now. I have yet to learn "Da". I also know "Wuuld". I'm level 10.
Lydia snuffed it last night when I went to kill Kematu.
She got in the way of my warhammer and I didn't realise it til later when I got halfway out of the caverns and she wasn't with me.
I went home and was going to just leave her but then I thought perhaps I should res her, thank you console commands XD
So she's back, no worse for wear, and we can go adventuring again.

Ya, I'm amazed that even on the lowest setting, graphics still look amazing!
(Mine are at medium/custom right now)
They did a really good job with how open-ended this world is, and how large it is too!
Coming into this game (and series) totally newbie, I'd give it 5 sweet rolls out of 5
