Something New
This Be Something New for the Friends up north with the white winds Blow.
In the shadow of the mountains, Cold rivers flow,
Up with the Arctic Chill, the yeti roams.
the sea does splash, spit, and foam.

Re: Something New
yet another something new
Awaken to the darkness...
Awaken into shadows...
Follow only the pinpricks
On the horizon
The shores of paradise
Drift on the breeze of dreams
And the memories of the ancients.
not quite sure what it means but enjoy
Awaken to the darkness...

Re: Something New
^_^ I am glad you enjoyed them Vin
Now to add to the collection
Ribbons of smoke
Dancing in the wind
A twist, a turn
A ghostly wisp of gray.
Vanishing into thin air,
My mind drifts with,
This the ribbon of smoke.
As it ascends to the heavens
So does my heart
I hope you all enjoy

Re: Something New
well today I was thumbing though some old books and found a great poem by Robert Louis Stevenson called The Land Of Nod. I submit it here because I think it's interesting... and I couldn't think of anything my-self.
Disclaimer: (To make it obliviously clear) this is not my work and take no credit for its creation or publication this is the work of Robert Louis Stevenson and was published in Care Bears Book of Bedtime Poems (c)1983
The Land of Nod
by: Robert Louis Stevenson
From breakfast on thought all the day
At home among my friends I stay;
But every night I go abroad
Afar into the land of Nod.
All by myself I have to go.
With none to tell me what to do--
All alone beside the streams
And up the mountain-sides of dreams.
The strangest things are there for me,
Both things to eat and things to see,
And many frightening sights abroad
Till morning in the land of Nod.
Try as I like to find the way,
I never can get back by day,
Nor can remember plain and clear
The curious music that I hear.
yes the care bears >.> and yes just like Eyor (the donkey) from Winnie the Pooh was the best character in that show so was Rainy Day Bear (the one with rain clouds on it belly) in this one <.<
Small edit: It wasn't Rainy Day Bear i was thinking about Grumpy Bear he was the one with the rain cloud. That is what I get for assuming names based on appearance >.<

Re: Something New
so it occurred to me that I haven't posted something new for a few days so I present a new something new on Something New
~sorry for the length~
Dreaming in color
Sometimes I dream
And when I dream
I do so in color
Muted mostly
Dull beige and grays
But sometimes
Only sometimes
In hues of beautiful blues,
And gorgeous greens,
Vivid violets,
And rosy reds,
Pretty pinks,
And outstanding oranges
I dream in color
I see only in a glimpse
The mind of the muse
She calls to me softly
A sweet little lullaby
The moon shines bright
The sky is blue
The trees are green
And the bushes are too.
As the dreams fade
In the forest's shade
The dawn's light embrace
The night's gone at a pace
The wind does rise
And the river does flow
The earth does shift
And the fire does glow
Enjoy

Esh <3
I'm going to write back something more meaningful next time.
*placeholder post*
Edit: Esh called me out and busted me. Here's my placeholder filler.
So, I find your stuff interesting for its simplicity and randomness. It makes me think of floating around and randomly looking down at places and moments in time.
It seems Vin's taken a special liking to your thoughts as well x] I think I'm done w/ writing since I left my old MySpace xD;

I am glad everyone is enjoying these and I am excited that other are interested in adding to the thread, and cant wait to see what people add. --i will make an official invite: there is an open invitation to add thoughts and poems to this thread --
That being said I will try to keep up posting every few days and I leave you with this from the depths of my hard-drive.
Enraptured
Enraptured by the way the bow moves.
Up, down, up, down.
The sonorous tones wash over the crowd as they stare silently,
The masters of old find there home in the freshly rosined bow.
Enraptured by the strings as they resonate,
The pitch high but unassumingly beautiful.
The sound sends my thought to a cliff,
As I watched the waves crash into the rock wall.
Or to a meadow where the chickadee fly,
And the daisies bend gently from a passing breeze.
enjoy

Re: Something New
O.o sorry it took me so long to post again
this is another one from the vault take it for what you will
Remember me fondly
Always with a smile
Remember me for what make you happy
Always and forever I will love you
Deeply and until the world stops turning
My heart shall love you
My wings shall comfort you
Rap you in their warmth
My voice heard in the leaves rustling
And the brook babbling
My spirit seen in the candle flame
And the shadows that dance
My life revealed in grains of sand
That blow on an ocean breeze
Now to cleanse the mental palate from that one >.>
Release my Heart to wander,
And my Soul shall ride upon the wind.
and
Look to the air for reason,
And water to find the way.
Take the earth to guard you,
And fire to warm your day.
Best regards and intentions
Enjoy

Re: Something New
Vin I am glad you like them, and I am humbled by the fact that people are actually read these posts. And I will continue to post as long as my brain can keep up with them.
However, my most resent post left a sour taste in my mouth . And although these works have value to me are personally important. That first one is, well, <.< ... >.> yea. So I submit a new post to hopefully cleanse the mind form that unfortunate onslaught.
This is just a goofy thought I had while at work
The universal source code
Staring at this electric portal
a portal to the land of myth and lore
science and understanding
as global as it is anonymous
we are a collective of data
opening the threshold
I see the source
The coding of this world
It speaks in zeros
It understands in ones
I C:in its PWNage.
And fear its LEETness,
Or is it 7331ness?
It is written in all tongues
From java to Klingon.
From HTML to Expect.
and From dragon-speak to common.
Enjoy
game point to Nerds and Geeks.

Re: Something New
well its good to see that after prodding XD ftwinz filled his place holder ^_^. as always I am glad to see interest in my thoughts however disjointed and random they may be.
here's today's post
Never have I ever had,
A moment so clear,
So unclouded.
As the brief moments,
When my thoughts are gone.
The moments even when enticing the muse,
She does not rise,
Does not come to my aid.
The moments of clarity,
By which no words are spoken,
Yet everything is understood.
Never have I ever had a moment So clear.
as always Enjoy
and feel free to drop in to the conversation and add to this thread. I am really interested to see what others like to write so please don't hesitate to add.

Well I always love a good story or poem.ftwinz wrote:

Even though I'm not a writer I love the written word.
It's amazing to sit and lose yourself in something and imagine those worlds and imagery the author creates... it's rather magical.
Films are great too, as we have the director's vision of what someone's written words mean, but there's nothing like one's own imagination to show you the unseen.
<3
Heh I unintentionally rhymed (not that I'm a big fan of rhyming poetry; one of the other reasons why I like Eshy's so much )
Also:
I'm reaching up and reaching out
I'm reaching for the random or whatever will bewilder me

Re: Something New
Hey all hope everyone is having wonderful fun on the forums. I have to say I am humbled that this thread reached a second Page! ^_^ So that is reason one for this post. The second is just out of boredom when I should really be asleep. ^_^
Well I hope everyone who stumbles upon Something New is having a pleasant what every time it is when you read this.
My heart is away,
My spirit has flown,
My body lies sleeping.
My heart feels the oceans current,
My spirit sees the morning’s earthrise,
My body lies sleeping.
My heart opens to the morning dew,
My spirit experiences the dawn’s rays,
My body lies sleeping.
The wind wakes me,
Tussling my hair,
Breathing in to my lungs.
My heart returns,
My spirit restored,
My body awakens to the sunrise.
As always
Enjoy

Re: Something New
So its been awhile since my last post.
I hope everyone has been doing well, and enjoying the good weather.
here is the post for this evening
Deep in the shady forest hollows,
Sits a maiden,
Both lovely and fair.
With auburn hair,
Surrounding a face of marbled alabaster.
Eyes like emerald pools,
That pierce the shadows,
And clouds of my mind.
Like the morning rays of sunlight,
Though the rustling leaves
They find their way to my soul,
And sparked the embers that sleep.
In the darkness of my heart,
To an inferno that has no equal,
Bathed in the light of inspiration,
Engulfed by the tangled web of shadow.
Each strand a thought,
Each connection a word.
Her voice, a soft coo,
Heard with a chorus of birdsong.
Taken on the wind,
High in to the sky,
And drifts though my dreams.
Upon her hands,
Rests a butterfly of blue,
Peaceful and tranquil.
It takes flight,
One becomes many,
As they flutter in the forest,
Around the maiden with auburn hair.
Enjoy

Re: Something New
Hi all hope your all having a wonderful start to the weekend. I submit to you a something new. yea
*Warning this is not my best work... so yea
There is an old story
of Two born of Eathal
Sitting aloft on a stone of clay
One emerged from the darkness as the light,
And the other defined by the light as darkness.
These two just sit,
And watch one another.
The same yet opposite,
The ultimate duality.
From their will, it comes to be.
From Alvon comes wind and water.
The forces that heal, the forces that mend.
from wind and water, ice flows forth
under and arctic sky's starry twinkle
From Balthora comes fire and earth.
The forces to protect, the forces that rend.
From fire and earth comes volcano
In the ocean's blue tropical islands.
as always
Enjoy
Ps. sorry for the weak sauce post >.>

Re: Something New
sorry for the radio silence and over all random nature of my postings everyone. I haven't been able to write much recently. It may be a little bit before I post on Something New again. I seem to have lost my imagination in the cobwebs of my mind and it may take a day or two to shake it loose. I will try to post a soon as I can write something worth posting. I will however leave you all with something I find utterly humorous because I found it written on a candle holder my Nana has in her bathroom.
An Irish Toast
May you be in Heaven a Half an hour before the devil knows your dead.
As always thanks for the continued support and Enjoy

Re: Something New
sorry it took a while and I hope everyone is doing well.
While going over the forums I saw Winz's "Something Old" post and was in awe so if you haven't read it yet You should.
here is my offerings for the evening
These be not words,
But Pictures.
They be not sentences,
But landscapes vivid.
There upon that yonder hill,
A tree does rest in the evening's chill.
Cold and silent, this arctic night.
The fire cracks, both warm and bright.
upon the pillow I lay my head,
It's night time now, It's time for bed.
I shut my eyes and go to sleep,
never having to count the sheep.
and
From where comes inspiration?
That elusive creative spark.
I see It only for a moment,
As the sun glitters thought the leaves.
I hear it in hushed whispers,
As it floats on the breeze.
Upon the spiders silky threads,
Covered in dewdrops,
Their sticky webs.
The dragonflies flight,
It jumps and flutters.
Banking, turning,
Swooping, swerving.
Playful little hummingbird,
Tweet, tweet, tweet.
Sitting on its perch
Chirp, chirp, chirp.
As always enjoy :p
