How has the new service complicated your life? Empty How has the new service complicated your life?

Post by FinalPrayer Wed Feb 17, 2010 4:48 pm

So Celion, how has the new service effected your game play?

I'll start.

Enchanting - Without free Camp Kits enchanting is now seen as a bothersome task as every 5 minutes we have to recover more firewood to continue burning and no, I'm not about to start buying camp kits with my nx every time we need to burn something.

Dungeons - Oh lord, where do I start? How about the most important part, things are more difficult now, of course the lack of Nao didn't hit me pretty hard, thing is, I can't have fun in dungeons anymore. I used to try and get Fuz killed and vice-versa, now if we die, it's going to cost us a good minute in re-bless time. Not to mention the work it takes to get the water as well. Everything is serious business now, dying is not an option. Yeah, I've got like a 300 church job count and a 50 Healer Job count, but still, those waters waste my time, and my money.
The lack of advanced play has also hit many players pretty severely, particularily mages, Mana Elixers anyone? I used to have tons of elixers to go around to my friends when needed along with full heals, campfire kits, and the like. Now? It's going to cost me alot of real life money, so I rarely dole out such rare items now.
Dungeons feel like a chore now, too much focus and not enough fun. That's just my opinion though.

Shadow Missions - Yeah, we've got shadow missions now, but if we all die, what do you do? Buy a Nao Soul Stone? Ask for an advanced feather? Eventually, with the way things are now, advanced feathers won't exist. Why? Because it's cheaper to buy Nao Soul Stones. People are relying on the left over reserves from their Advanced Play Services for now, eventually those reserves will dry. Making me not a happy camper.

Aesthetics - Granted, this is a fairly trivial matter, but people did find joy in making their own unique clothing with their own colours, even if half of them dyed their stuff black or some variation of black. I always liked Mabi for the ability to customize your clothings to your liking. Now, if you want to do that, you either have to dole out 990nx for 1 dye, and hope you get the colour you want, or pay the outragous prices of the market dyes. The new Alchemist-in-Training Suit is something I'd love to dye, but unfortunately with the way things are I'm to go camp the clothing shop for a randomized colour I might like. Some clothings you can't do this for making it rather expensive to utilize the unique colours that are around.

Expendable Income - As most of you know, I used my advanced play quite frequently to generate large sums of money. Hey, I paid for it, I beleive I deserved it. I lost a good 100$ easy on characters and that's not even including the potential money I could be making off the adv play. I'm not about to do a big long math problem to explain just how much Nexon is ripping us off. If you want to see that go check the Nexon Forums, there's like 80 threads with the same info. Point is, we're getting ripped off royally now.
I've resorted to selling Holy Water for 30k each, which isn't all that bad, cept I'm supporting several people with holy water until their job counters reach a reasonable number. Meaning I don't exactly have much breathing room to sell them.

The Tarlach Fair - This should be under expendable income, but hey, it deserves it's own heading. With the new change I can't afford to support the fair as fiercely as I did before. Yay Nexon...

Service - I don't want to pay for it. I feel sorry for every guild leader paying for service right now, because honestly, it's just glorified storage. 10% exp will not make a difference to me, especially since it doesn't increase the shadow missions final exp completion. Which is where I'm practically living right now.

I could add more, but I've gone from a simple discussion to starting to rant about the change now... xD... But a lot of people are equally frastrated with the changes I know this for sure.

Obiviously, I miss having naos, but what i really miss are the dye amps. I have this obsession with dyeing stuff, to the point that I almost NEVER sell my weekly dyes. I can always find something to dye, and its just that dyeing is fun to me, as opposed to having your own wardrobe style. Now however, i can no longer afford dye amps, for the cheapest ones that i can find are almost all over 100k, and dont even mention housing. The cheapest dye amp in housing in tarlach is 300k.

Also, i agree with what you said about nexon ripping us off. We're basically paying 1500nx extra for the old extra storage service.

However, right now, im just amusing myself with this guy's response to... well... you can read for yourself.

You all know as well as we do that we're not. We've expressed that loud and clear in simple English. If you cannot comprehend that, then why are you working in Nexon AMERICA.

Thorn adds: I totally agree with what you say.

Now i get that nexon is a big company, they have all the rights and say to change the service (and they've proven that), and they're not literally "forcing" you to buy anything, but i believe that we (or most of us) can agree that there are some levels of "manipulation" behind this, (yes, i think manipulation is a good word).

They shouldnt have given the original service to us in the first place, if there was even the slightest possibility of switching that service. They made us used to the way we "lived" and now there are people who are spending 50k nx a month on soulstones and dyes, simply because they're so used to the way they originally "lived", or in simpler words, because they fell into Nexon's trap.

I think that its fair to say that Nexon, in this perspective, can be considered to be: EVIL.

Nexon made us happy and trusting, and once we're in their trap, they pounced.

If you have time, please sign this petition at the official Nexon Forums. I mean, atleast we still have the right to speak, so hurry up and sign before Nexon takes that away as well. (Honestly though, i doubt it'll be of any use, but we have something to hope for, right?)

It hasn't affected me too much since I stopped getting service a few months ago. However, it will be annoying if I ever need a dye in the future with these prices.

I don't feel too bad about the nao stone thing. I am more annoyed by the fact that there's not a rez at altar option in the shadow missions. This is of course part of Nexon's plan expand their markets to people like me that keep some NX in their accounts but do not buy service or rb cards.

It won't, which is why I never bothered signing, actually I've never signed a petition because I know they do nothing. However, I do hope that this change dips into Nexon's wallets a bit and it's a noticeable decrease. If that happens Nexon will clearly see that this new "Business Model" is clearly the wrong one. I know I'm not spending any money on nx for a while until I see some change, if not, oh well, I'll play for free and manipulate my 10+ accounts.

There's nothing wrong with hoping. False hope, however..

And yes, I'm pessimistic. But that's only because I believe most optimists are idealists while pessimists are realists.

How has the new service complicated your life? Empty Re: How has the new service complicated your life?

Well, to be perfectly honest, the service change simplified things for me. Before I'd consider running harder dungeons, or dungeons I don't really care for, but I've not even seen a dungeon altar since the service change. I've done some of the easier shadow missions, and that's about all I'll do. I might go into an easy dungeon for when I need herbs, but I'll probably just C warp out rather than risk my blessings on any boss room. So essentially it's like when I first started playing, when lag caused a good half second delay to any skill I loaded. Combat was impossible, so I just stuck to life skills. Now I have alchemy and life skills. Oh, and I borrowed Mass Effect, and it has it's hooks in me.

I'm not even touching Tiali or Dakar right now. Tiali, as with most elves, dies if a stiff breeze hits her, and while Dakar is pretty good at surviving, I only ever used him for dungeons, which I don't do anymore.

I think my total for adv feathers is around 40-50, but the fact that they lowered revival exp and that the feathers are now real money only, I'm very reluctant to use em.

As for pestering Nexon about the service, I already said my bit about the daily feedback tickets I'm sending. And yes, I remember the oh so supportive response you all had in guild chat. Not that I expected Heath to be bothered by service change. I do realize that they don't read the feedback when they get it, but they do log it. If I send my tickets to a different sub section, they'd speed read it, see it wasn't pertinent to the category I submitted it under, send a copy paste response and tell me to choose the right category, then delete it. At least with the feedback there's a chance that someone will actually read it with some interest. Same chance as skinny dipping in a pool of acid and surviving, but hey, at least there's a chance.

Yeah, it is pretty funny..

I'm on the two opposite ends: either extremely blunt or extremely sarcastic. And, well, since sarcasm doesn't transfer well over text, I tend to stick with the bluntness more.

Well, I can't get into Mabinogi now. With the password change keeping me from logging in, and I can't log into the site because my ip was blocked for "suspicious activity" I know there's a page I can use to contest that, but right now, I really don't care. It's a pity that a game as good as Mabinogi has to be run by Nexon. I honestly never knew they were this bad, since I'd never really played any of their games before. Heck, I only had an account because of Audition, and that was only because they had the south east asia server ban north american ip addresses. I'll try getting in every now and again, but I don't really care that much after all this crap.

yeah the new password login thing is bugging me too... cause i went through alot of games before mabinogi, games that required me to constantly make new emails and etc....

so now... i have no idea what email i used for my current account, and i think that after i change the password i gotta verify it via email which means that im totally screwed over >.>

thnx nexon... for making my life sooooo much easier....

You do know that you don't have to "verify" the password change, right?

Just change your password and go play mabi, the web-launch is also easily avoidable. Simply go into your c:Nexon/Mabinogi and click the orange celtic icon. You can shortcut it to your desktop but the next time you try and open it the file will magically become unusable, so it's recommended you just shortcut your Mabinogi folder on your desktop.

I don't like how I have to reload the client everytime I wanna switch accounts though...
